JOHNNY JAMES is a US smooth jazz sax man. Known affectionately as “Dr J”, he’s supported plenty of soul and jazz “names” over a twenty-five-year career. Right now, his own album, ‘Remedy’ (great title, reflecting his nick name!) is winning plenty of support in the smooth, sophisticated soul world . One of the chief reasons is a wonderful cover version of Larry Graham’s evergreen wedding song, ‘One In A Million’. This one features an old school vocal from William “Kooly” Scott while the good doctor’s blowing is quite something too!
Other vocal cuts on the album include the groove-heavy ‘Your Love’ and the clipped beater that is ‘Prescription’ – clearly part of the ‘Remedy’… out now!
