‘Remedy’ is the latest EP offering from UK based soul and jazz singer, CHERISE. Some will know her via her work with Tomorrow’s Warriors, whose alumni include Nubya Garcia and Ezra Collective. Jazz FM listeners will also know that she was awarded Jazz FM’s Vocalist of the Year Award in 2020; she was also named Vocalist of the Year by the Parliamentary Jazz Awards.
The music on ‘Remedy’ is hard to pigeon-hole (no bad thing!) but if pushed we’d go for neo-soul with a jazzy undertow. The mini album’s title cut is a strong and soulful contemporary ballad which amply shows why Cherise is an award winner – a real contender! It’s the EP’s lead single and is out now via Lab Recordings… recommended!
