Latest release from QUANTIZE RECORDS features a proper, Brit soul vet… ROY G HEMMINGS. Those of you with long (and decent) memories might know that Roy was a member of 70s Brummie outfit the JALN Band. Remember their hit ‘Disco Music (I Like It)’? Through the 90s Roy was a member of an incarnation of the Drifters. His outfit were “for real” – under the auspices of the Drifters brand owners, the Treadwell family. Roy has also released a trio of solo albums – the most recent coming in 2017.
His latest single, coming via Quantize is ‘You’ve Got Everything To Make Me Happy’ – an energetic outing with a true soul vocal which was produced by Toni Economides and Mike Patto (the Reel People crew). Patto also plays keys on the track with Ernie McKone on bass and guitar and Dahlia Rowe on backing vocals.
