XAMBYA is the stage name of THEO KAMUNGOMA and guess what – he hails from Zambia. In 2006 he won that country’s Star Search competition and the prize was a recording session in New York. Sadly, little positive came from it – but learning important lessons, he returned home to record an album that became a huge success across Africa. XAMBYA is currently back in the States and working on his second long player for Southern Hospitality Entertainment and the advance rushes promise a truly soulful set. The song ‘Grab Somebody’ is already causing ripples through the Atlanta soul community while the tuneful ‘Never Give Up’ will please the modern soul crowd and ballad lovers won’t be disappointed by ‘Someone To Love’.
