Lovers of quality contemporary soul and jazz will be delighted to be reminded that acclaimed singer/songwriter KANDACE SPRINGS is lining up the release of a new album for early April release. The set, ‘Run Your Race’, is a 14 tracker and has been produced in tandem with Evan Rogers and Carl Sturken for SRP Records.
We’ve already enjoyed the album’s first single – the title track (see https://www.soulandjazzandfunk.com/news/kandace-springs-new-music/) . The second single has just won release and it’s another gentle and soothing offering – a cover of Billie Eilish’s ‘What Was I Made For’ which was written for the ‘Barbie’ movie. Ms Springs has made the song uniquely her own giving it a gentle, jazz-tinged shading – quite different to the original.
