“Jazz” and “Wales” aren’t words that you usually find in the same sentence… well that might be set to change as proper jazz comes to the Principality via a new regular jazz night in Wales’ premier holiday resort… good old Llandudno.

Nestling in that lovely Queen of holiday towns is a cafe bar by the name of Tiffany’s. It’s co-owned by Simon Gardener – a respected musician and producer at Rockcliffe Studios and he’s’ kindly agreed to use the venue as a jazz club through the upcoming summer season. The first jazz show there will be on Friday 25th July with more shows on the last Friday of the month through to October.

The evenings will be hosted by the North Wales jazz pianist Martin Higginson. He and his band will be the house band with Martin as M.D for these 3 months. They will be playing a cool set of largely mainstream jazz favourites with regular guest singers and musicians. One of the guests already booked is vocalist Louise Pollock. She has had her own monthly show at Ronnie Scott’s for over 3 years where she has performed many times, along with venues such as the Jazz Cafe in Camden and the Pizza Express Jazz Club in Soho, London.
