Latest offering from the Preston Glass production stable is an old school, smooth soul outing, ‘I Just Want Your Love’ from a gentleman called LARNEY “DAPPER” JOHNSON. Don’t know much about Mr J but his lovely nickname has him down as a smart dresser (the single’s cover confirms this!) and his warm, world weary vocals suggest that he’s been round the soul block a few times. The delightful backing vocals come from another unknown, a sweetly cooing Gemia Burns while smooth sax lines add to the record’s attraction. If you like your soul sweet, uncomplicated and old fashioned you may want to investigate.
