SUPER db are a 4-piece band from London. Featuring twin brothers J-M Sutcliffe (Guitars & vocals), J-P Sutcliffe (Drums, vocals, keys & percussion), Lorenzo Bassignani (Bass) & Matt Dibble (Keys, vocals, sax & clarinet). They describe their sound as “a distinctive mix of pop, disco, funk, rock and jazz” and their name comes from what they call “the positive upbeat nature of music (db being an abbreviation of both ‘dolby’ and ‘decibel’)”. So now you know! Their previous releases have included ‘Kool Funk’ and ‘Open Line To Me’.
Right now, the band are busy promoting a new single, ‘Wait For Me’ – a busy, bustling blue-eyed soul outing with a hint of the Young Gun Silver Fox sound. Lyrically the song treads familiar ground – a love triangle and all that that involves! We believe that the track comes form the Super db’s upcoming album, ‘Ecoute Ca’ – due this summer!
