THE FAITHFUL BROTHERS hail from Israel and they’re not all brothers! At the collective’s core are DJ Yashiv Cohen and Johnnie and Bin Neeman. The trio are passionate about soul and run big soul nights in Tel Aviv.
Last September, they released an eponymous album that was reasonably well-received. It featured several soul covers including a version of McKinley “Soul” Mitchell’s ‘The Town I Live In’ and an edited version of that cover has just been released as a standalone single. Taking on such a classic shows how confident the Faithfuls are and they don’t just copy it; they give it a totally different feel – properly up-tempo. Interesting!
Were told that the release is to coincide with an upcoming UK summer and autumn tour – but we have no details as yet. We’re also told that their album will soon be re-released with bonus tracks added to the original version.
