Veteran US smooth jazz sax man DEE LUCAS is all set to launch his latest album. The vet’s been in the business for twenty years – so guess what he’s called the album? You right – ‘Twenty’!
The album was flagged up in May via the release of a single – a jazz-lite instrumental, ‘Tighten Up’ (not the Archie Bell song, by the way). Fans of that kind of sax-led smooth jazz will be delighted to know that ‘Twenty’ boasts plenty more of the same. Try the introspective ‘Soul Searching’, the jaunty title track, the exotic ‘Cuban Cigar Nights’ or ‘Shelter Island’.
Soul fans though will inevitably be drawn to the album’s one vocal – ‘Weak Spot’ . This is a mid-tempo builder with vocal input from Kevin Bennet.
DEE LUCAS: ‘Twenty’ – released September 20th.
