A couple of weeks back we enthused about a lovely new single from the TERRI GREEN PROJECT. It was a captivating dancer that saw the ever-wonderful Ms G sharing vocal duties with Chicago singer/guitarist RANDY HALL. We suggested that their ‘Turnt Up Tonight’ harked back to those great Weekender anthems. And now to add more weight to that contention, the Project people have released the tune in an extended mix – perfect for dance floors and those with the stamina. The new mix stretches the original 3.50 tune to a more generous 4.48.
The song, by the way, was co-penned with Reggie Staggers (brother of soul crooner Marc) and we can look forward to more collaborations between Reggie and Terri as we learn that the duo have been working on a forthcoming EP for over a year.
Amongst the musicians on ‘Turnt Up Tonight’ are the NWO (New World Order) Horns… Lenny Harris (Sax), Gilbert Pryor (trumpet) and Wondel Brown (trombone), Thomas Stieger handles the bass while Randy Hall plays guitar and Reggie Staggers adds extra drum and percussion programming. Production is down to Terri Bjerre, Torsten Abrolat and Reginald Staggers and the new mix is out now!
