Long running Dutch combo, TRISTAN won plenty of hearts and souls with their 2014 long player, ‘Full Power’ and now they’re gearing up for the release of the follow-up, ‘2nd phase’ – due March, by the way.
The new album’s been heralded by the catchy single ‘Finally Found’ for which Tristan brought in US top soul boy, Heston to share vocal duties with their own Evelyn Kallansee. The Atlanta-based singer brought a touch of magic to the tune and it’s been heavily rotated on the most discerning soul stations for the last few weeks.
To give the tune a little more longevity, it’s now available in a cool, lazy ‘Sweet Soul Mix’ that takes the tempo down just a touch. The Heston/Evelyn chemistry remains, the melody’s just as sweet and the remixers have wisely kept the soulful sax break. The new remix is available right now on Isolde records and it’s well worth an investigation.
Tristan, by the way, will be live at the Jazz Cafe on March17th (supporting the fab Robin McKelle) while on the 20th March, Northern folk can catch them at Manchester’s lovely Band On The Wall club.
