Songs For Lost Travellers is an unlikely album collaboration between the soulful South London rapper Confucius MC – one-half of the noted hip-hop CoN & KwAkE – and Leamington Spa-born producer and multi-instrumentalist Bastien Keb.
Eschewing febrile urban beats for an off-beat musical path characterised by quiet pastoral soundscapes where acoustic guitar, soft synth layers, and mellow woodwind intertwine, the two musicians have created something unique. Marrying spoken meditations on life, love, and relationships with dreamy backdrops, the pair bring a freshly soulful, genre-blurring perspective to hip-hop.
The album’s first single ‘Tell Me Lies’ is out now.
Songs For Lost Travellers is set for release on 7th February 2025 via Shabaka Hutchings’ Native Rebel Recordings
