As reported last month, SHIRLEY DAVIS (a London-born soul sister) is readying the release of a new album ‘Keep On Keepin’ On’ (cover above). The LP’s title is a nod to advice given to her by the late, great Sharon Jones; so you can probably guess the kind of sound that Ms D and her band – the Silverbacks – deal in. Yep – old school, organic, tough soul and funk as witnessed by their last single, the pairing of ‘Stay Firm’ with ‘Culture Vulture’.
