With her fabulous new Mercury album, ‘Dark Black,’ scooping plenty of plaudits from the British broadsheet critics 30-year-old American singer/songwriter KRISTINA TRAIN is set to perform a must-see headline gig at London’s Bush Hall on Monday November 12th. She can also be seen supporting noted Belgian songwriter, Gotye, the night after on Tuesday November 13th at the Hammersmith Apollo.
‘Dark Black’ is the New York-born/Georgia-raised chanteuse’s second long player and follows in the wake of her 2009 debut, ‘Spilt Milk,’ which was released by Blue Note. Blessed with a gorgeously sultry and ultra-soulful vocal delivery – with perceptible shades of Dusty Springfield in her timbre – Train’s own music blurs the boundaries between pop, soul, country, blues and jazz.
Look out for an interview with Kristina and a review of ‘Dark Black’ very soon at SJF
