TOM MCGUIRE & THE BRASSHOLES are a soul and funk band from Glasgow. They’re a big live draw and record wise their first single, ‘Ric Flair’ was a streaming success, and the follow up, the equally enigmatically titled ‘Oh Savanna’ featured the same big funky sounds that show how influenced the band are by people like a certain James Brown, the Meters and Dr John.
Tom and the band’s newest offering is an equally powerful outing… ‘Tower’. Tom tells us that the song is an “ode to that everyday love that sustains a lasting relationship, distinct from the heady and intoxicating head-over-heels love, so all-consuming but which only constitutes one part of the picture.” Sweet lyrics, but it’s the powerful sound that will grab you… big and intricate horn arrangement, tough guitar lines, femme bvs, big, big vocal and a killer rhythm section mean real impact! Feel the power of the Brassholes’ ‘Tower’… it’s out now
