Everyone favourite Scouse soul man, MT JONES is releasing a brand new single today – Wednesday 22nd May. It’s a captivating, hook-laden ‘Tough Love’.
The song was written with long-time collaborator Callum Cowie and it’s a soulful exploration of the realisation that someone doesn’t feel the same way about you as you do about them. This new single follows Jones’ March ‘All I Do’, a longing apology recounting the feelings of regret which arise when a love is lost. So, yes, a bit of them going on here.
Sonically, this ‘Tough Love’ is, like much current popular soul, i.e. totally contemporary with its roots in classic soul – “throwback”, if you would and Mr J delivers his usual distinctive vocal.
Like ‘All I Do’, ‘Tough Love’ is taken from the singer’s upcoming debut self-titled EP. ‘Tough Love’ comes recommended!
