Last month the UK’ soul media announced he details of the annual FOUR TOPS tour of the UK. It turned out to be a something of a debacle! Promoters weren’t too sure about who was to appear – were the Temptations coming too? Maybe it was a “bogus” Temptations “revue”! And what about the addition of Tavares as support? The family band has suffered sad losses in recent times.
At last, it seems the promoters have got their act together and have finally come up with the lineup for the autumn shows. Fans can enjoy the real Duke Fakir Four Tops, supported by Martha and the Vandellas and an iteration of Tavares.
The Tops confirmed lineup is original founding member Abdul ‘Duke’ Fakir, joined by Lawrence Payton Jr (son of original member Lawrence Payton), Ronnie McNeir and Alex Morris. Martha Reeves will be assisted by her sisters Lois and Delphine Reeves while Tavares will be a quartet led by original founding members Perry ‘Tiny’ Tavares and Feliciano ‘Butch’ Tavares.
