San Diego-based trio THEE SACRED SOULS (drummer/songwriter Alex Garcia, bassist/songwriter Sal Samano and vocalist Josh Lane) are one of several new age bands that channel a thrilling take on classic, 60s harmony soul. Their eponymous 2022 album announced their arrival as real contenders and their upwards trajectory has been maintained via a series of singles and now – a new album’s on the way!
The LP is ‘Got A Story To tell’ and like their previous work, producer is Daptone’s Gabriel Roth – a man who knows a thing or two about retro soul. Sadly, the LP’s not out till October but while we wait, we can enjoy the album’s lead single – a sweet, soaring, soulful ballad ‘Lucid Girl’. The lead vocal (Josh Lane) is a gentle falsetto, supported by classic harmonies and a sympathetic backdrop – classic retro soul. You’d except that though from a band who know, love and respect the genre!
