Hot on the heels of their release of a newly discovered mix of Odyssey’s ‘Native New Yorker’, Brookside Records have dug into the Atlantic vaults and discovered two Mike Maurro mixes of TRAMMPS classics … ‘Hooked For Life’ and ‘Soul Searching’. The former was only ever released on Atlantic’s “Exclusive Disco Series” of promo only 12”s in the U.S. back in 1975 while the mix of ‘Soul Searching’ was a UK only release in WEA’s “Disco Special Cut” series.
Both these mixes have become collectors’’ items and are acknowledged as classics in the Mike Maurro catalogue… extended intros, instrumental passes and breakdowns, and mastered in Philadelphia by Mike Tarsia of the world-famous Sigma Sound Studios.
