The Netherlands’ premier soul and funk outfit, TRISTAN are currently putting the final polish on their upcoming long player… ‘Lifestyle’, the follow up to the ultra successful, ‘2nd Phase’.
To whet appetites, the gang have just unleashed the set’s first single – a busy, bubbling, jazzy ‘I’ll Be Around’. No, not the Spinners’ song – but a band original that will make you think of Incognito, Brand New Heavies, EWF or even Tower of Power. The cut features a powerful vocal from the group’s lead voice, Evelyn Kallansee while the instrumentation allows the guys in the band to show their best licks. Little wonder the tune’s already getting maximum rotation on Jazz FM.
Amongst the album’s other tracks are two cuts featuring US soul man, Heston. The one we’ve heard, ‘Feet Back On The Ground’ ( not a version of Tower of Power’s ‘Get Yo’ Feet Back On The Ground’; it’s another original song) is a real killer. Sweet and harmonic, the pace is just right for the sophisticated modern soul room and Mr. H’s vocal is a soul delight!
