When you were a child you might have enjoyed the classic, oldie kids’ song ‘The Runaway Train’. Adult soul buffs will tell you that there’s an alternative ‘Runaway Train’ – VICTIR DAVIES’ ‘Runaway Train’ in fact!
Vic is British singer/songwriter whose last album (we think) was released in 2019 – a collaboration with Mika Urbaniak. Much earlier in 1999 he unleashed his ‘Runaway Train’. He must have liked it ‘cos it reappeared on Jazznova three years later. And guess what? It’s back on the platform and rearing to go.
Mr D, it seems, is now working with Canadian label, Boomtang, who over the last year of so have been reissuing some of his old stuff – some in new mixes. Thus it is with ‘Runaway Train’ – now available in a jazzy, soulful housey ‘Wahoo’ edit. It’s out now and it packs plenty of appeal.
