IMAAJI is a Canadian singer/songwriter who’s busy preparing an EP but she’s just, hastily, released a single, ‘Life Has Meaning’ which is meant to tie in with a certain Donald J Trump’s accession!
Musically, the tune’s a quirky affair that starts with an innocent child-spoken question. Ms Imaaji’s vocal then kicks in and it’s really hard to pin down. Neo/nu soul? Sure you can hear shades of Ms Badu, even Macy Gray but there’s also a folksy/hippy undertow. File under “interesting”.
