Right at the end of 2023, feisty, fierce, funksters BELLA BROWN AND THE JEALOUS LOVERS released their dynamic LRK single, ‘Soul Clap’ (no relation to the Booker T tune by the way). It was/is a proper brassy stomper in the manner of, say, Bohannon – but with a tough funk undertow and we were told that the cut’s the title track to the band’s upcoming album. For those who like stats, the ‘Soul Clap’ single garnered thousands of streams and extensive radio play across Europe and America.
Now straight out of the 2024 blocks Bella (real name Carol Hatchett) and the band are unleashing a second single from the ‘Soul Clap’ LP. It’s another big, tough, uncompromising outing, ‘Living Proof’. It sees Ms B in fine fettle and boasts a catchy hook. Sonically and lyrically it’s a proclamation of individual happiness.
The team @ LRK Records tell us that ‘Living Proof’ will be good to go on January 12th – available on all streaming platforms. Concurrently, the pre-sales for both the 12’ vinyl and compact disc editions of the new ‘Soul Clap’ LP will commence on that date . The LP promises to showcase new and extended versions of Bella’s three previous singles, five new tracks, and this infectious ‘Living Proof’.
