‘Kids’ is the latest single from blue-eyed soul outfit YOUNG GUN SILVER FOX (Andy Platts from Mamas Gun and multi-faceted muso Shawn Lee). Those of you who know the duo’s previous collaborations (2 fine albums) will know they offer a lovely, old-fashioned melodic, harmonic sound… a sort of hybrid of America, Steely Dan, Fleetwood Mac, The Doobie Brothers, Carly Simon, Hall & Oates, Michael McDonald and a few more!
‘Kids’ typifies that special YGSF sound and the good news is that the track which “is about living through the lens of a child – or placing yourself in the shoes of a child” is the leadoff single to a new LP… ‘Canyons’ which we’re told “documents the arc of a relationship – with diversions into semi-autobiography, fantasy and removed observation”. We’ll wait and see…. but if ‘Kids’ is anything to go by the album will be a corker! Out soon!
