Born in Cardiff, raised in Sheffield but now based in London, singer/songwriter KAT EATON is making a name for herself on the Capital’s indie music scene. You can judge just why “the small girl with the big voice” is making waves by grabbing a listen to Kat’s new 5 track EP ‘When You’re Not Around’.
The mini album is named for a tasty Nashville-flavoured ballad that highlights the depth of Ms E’s voice and the poignancy of her writing. If you prefer something feistier, then try ‘The Joker’ or ‘Robbing You Blind’ – both superior pop that would sit well on the BBC Radio 2 playlist! ‘Put Yourself In My Arms’ is simpler, based around a blues format while ‘I Can’t Go Back’ is a melancholic acoustic item.
