With a new album slated for May release, the ever-lovely CORINNE BAILEY RAE has just unveiled the second single from the long player.

The tune is a gentle and beguiling ‘Green Aphrodisiac’ and was written by Ms Rae in collaboration with Amber Strother from LA soul outfit King. Other guests on the tune include Paris Strother, Esperanza Spalding and Marcus Miller.

“This song is inspired by intoxicating spring days lying in the grass in the afternoon, blossom and sunlight,” says Corinne. “The same thing that grows in the garden flows in me in you. Hope you get lost in it!” Yes, it’s that kind of song and I can’t help thinking of Rotary Connection and Minnie Riperton.

It’s also been announced that Corinne will be the special guest on Lionel Richie’s UK summer tour. Mr. Richie has tweeted: “I always have a great time when I’m in the UK and I’m really pleased Corinne is going to be joining me on tour for these special shows.”

CORINNE BAILEY RAE’S ‘Green Aphrodisiac’ single is out now and the ‘The Heart Speaks In Whispers’ album will be released on May 13rth.
