Over the past year or so we’ve featured music from US soul/jazz singer SELINA ALBRIGHT (yes, sax man Gerald’s daughter). She’s been featured as guest vocalist on a number of top tunes (including, of course, work with her dad). Right now though the LA based Selina is focused on her own solo career and is busy promoting two new singles – two very different sounds that show her range and soulful versatility.

First up there’s another collaborative effort with Dutch band, The Pact, ‘Anyone Can Have It’. This is a loose and funky workout with extra heft from Italian muso,  Gianni Vancini. It’s a busy bustler with Ms Albright in feisty mood.

The second single is a different affair altogether – a big, dramatic ballad, ‘Dishonest S mile’. The story line is how women strive to win through despite all their domestic problems; how they manage to balance their responsibilities despite the frustrations that come their way. A strong message indeed  and Selina delivers  with commitment and a passion that tugs at the emotions.  The whole  soundscape might remind you a little of dear Whitney  Houston and it  betrays Selina’s musical apprenticeship working with people like Chaka Khan, Will Downing, Eric Roberson, Regina Belle, Tony Momrelle and  Maysa.

More good news? Selina is having her 1st London show on 7th July 2023 at Pizza Express Live Holborn as part of ‘The Dream Tour (USA / Europe)’… yep, the future’s bright… it’s Albright! Learn more @
