California-born but Washington-based GENEVA RENÉE is a soul and jazz singer/songwriter whose latest single – a smooth and sophisticated ‘Your Tender Kiss’ – is starting to win plays on the savvier smooth jazz stations.
The Sade-flavoured ‘Your Tender Kiss’ was written by Ms Renée with her producer David P Stephens who decided that to give the romantic ballad extra sensuality something a little extra was needed. That “extra” comes via the lithe saxophone lines of Marqueal Jordan who says: “Once I heard ‘Your Tender Kiss,’ I was immediately taken to that place of high desire and tension when you are feeling someone, the chemistry and attraction is mutual, and you cannot wait to kiss them. Geneva’s performance takes you there. She has a phenomenal tone that emotes sensuality and she gives everything to a song. I wanted to bring my emotional intensity to the song in a supportive way,”
