It was back in 1977 (!) that LENNY WILLIAMS released his classic ‘Choosing You’ album. The Frank Wilson produced set was stuffed with goodies – notably the incomparable ‘Shoo Doo Fu Fu Ooh’ and the surging ‘Please Don’t Tempt Me’.
Now, over forty years later, ‘Please Don’t Tempt Me’ is back with us in a totally new, re-structured mix courtesy of Martin Shaw. It runs out at over eight minutes and in some ways it recalls those great Norman Whitfield/Temptations tunes where the vocals were secondary to the overall production, though Martin wisely retains the lovely original chorus parts.
