THE MIGHTY MOCAMBOS are a tight and tough German funk and soul outfit. Previously known as “the Bacao Rhythm and Steelband”, they deliver hard driving, old school, brassy funk, always recorded in analogue.
Sample their sound via their latest single ‘The Take Off’ which is released February 11th. Like plenty of classic funk singles of yesteryear the Mocambos’ ‘The Take Off’ is spread over two sides – logically part 1 and part 2!
Part 1 (the A side) is a 7 minute instrumental breakbeat extravaganza while the B side features a classic funk vocal from Nichola Richards alongside an organic rap courtesy of Brooklyn MC JSwiss.
The single is released as a limited edition 7” via Mocambo Records while fans of digital can get the music via Golden Rules. Take Off date is February 11th!
