URCHIN is the musical alter ego of South-West London muso Leo Appleyard. Urchin were originally an 8 piece band but last year Mr Appleyard spent time in Australia and, taking in the progressive music scene of Melbourne, he’s returned with s subtly different take on progressive soul and chill – and he’s delivered it on a new EP , ‘Take Time’.
The EP’s lead single is (obviously) ‘Take Time’ …. a haunting, contemporary electro soul groove that would also sit nicely amidst the sunset bars of Ibiza. Interestingly the vocalist on the song is up and coming UK blue eyed soul singer Grace Walker, who just happens to be the daughter of soul scribe Toby Walker of the soulwalking website. The EP is out now.
