‘To The Water’ is the latest single from KEVIN FLOURNOY – a US keyboardist who’s been on the scene for nearly 30 year. Mr F has has written, performed or recorded with people like Chaka Khan, Babyface, Dionne Warwick, Gladys Knight, Jeffrey Osborne, The Pointer Sisters, Jennifer Hudson, Howard Hewitt, Jamie Foxx, The Jazz Crusaders and contemporary jazzers Boney James, Norman Brown, Kirk Whalum and Harvey Mason. Say it quietly but in the 2000’s, Flournoy toured with Donny Osmond for six years. And he’s also worked on numerous TV projects including ‘American Idol’
At the moment Kevin’s preparing the release of an album of his own … ‘Vers•a•tility’ from which we’ve already enjoyed the single ‘Tell Me If You Still Care’ . A cover of the SOS Band’s 1983 hit, and here Kevin and his team created a smooth, sophisticated quiet storm jam with vocals from Phil Perry and Shannon Pearson.
‘To The Water’ is the LP’s second single . This is another vocal featuring Amanda Cole. It’s a building ballad – very much in the Whitney Houston mode. No surprise, then, to learn that Ms Cole is a noted Houston tribute artist whose shows win rave reviews while her YOUTUBE covers of Whitney classics have won almost 2M hits. Out now.
