SWEET DREAMS!

PRESSURE POINT is a London based music collective – at the core are Sean Maher, Anthony Longden and Matthew Best.  The  trio have a background in independent funk and jazz and way back in 1989 their ‘This London’ album won plenty of support and is now (of course) a collectors’ item! The band actually  debuted in ’85 with the single ‘Mellow Moods’ and its success encouraged them to ask a certain Ms P P ARNOLD to work with them on the aforementioned LP.

Two P P Arnold-led tracks from ‘This Is London’ were released a singles – ‘Stay’ and ‘Dreaming’ and that latter has been a firm favourite with the soul crowd ever since its release in 1989.

Once again proving that you just can’t keep a good tune down, Pressure Point’s Dreaming’ is back with us in a lovely new mix from  JASON YARDE who crafts a lazy, summery groove that retains the jazzy feel of the original and keeps the soulful  PP vocal right at the front of the mix. To make things just a little confusing though, the team have-retitled the song ’Dream All Night’ – makes no odds, though, it’s still a lovely little thing!

Since the heady days of ‘This Is London’, the Pressure Point gang have worked in various guises – one, The Greedy Beat Syndicate’, have cut some successful funk while Ms Arnold is enjoying something of a renaissance right now. But the coming together of Pressure Point and the singer back in 1989  created real Brit soul magic. We  believe that the ‘This Is London’ LP will be reissued later in the year – but in the meantime enjoy ‘Dreaming’/ ‘Dream All Night’. Out now via Blow It Hard.
