SUPER SOUL FROM SUPERBIRD

SUPER SOUL FROM SUPERBIRD

Top soul reissue label, SUPERBIRD have a bumper batch of classic albums lined up for release over the upcoming weeks. First up is a fabulous twofer from DIONNE WARWICK – coupling the LUTHER VANDROSS-produced ‘How Many Times Can We Say Goodbye’ and 1982’s ‘Friends In Love’. The quality of the LUTHER collaboration is beyond doubt while ‘Friends’ offers some hidden gems – notably the STEVIE WONDER-guested ‘With A Touch’. Funk fiends will relish reissue albums on the OHIO PLAYERS and the BAR-KAYS. Superbird pair ‘Angel’ and ‘Jass-Ay-Lay-Dee’;’ from the PLAYERS and ‘Too Hot To Stop’ along with ‘Flying High On Your Love’ from the BAR-KAYS. The fourth Superbird album serves up two albums (‘Centipede’ and ‘Reaction’) from the under-appreciated REBBIE JACKSON, while for compilation fans there’s a wonderful 20 tracker featuring soul from Nashville’s wonderfully-named Ref-O-Ree label…artists include GENE ALLISON, SPICE OF LIFE, WENDELL WATTS and ROSCOE SHELTON.
