Despite their name, SOULFUSIONSEVEN are actually a duo comprising bassist/songwriter John Saltwell and lyricist Paul Baker.

We first heard of ’em on a Tom Glide 2014 ‘Smooth Winter’ compilation on which their ‘Steppin’ Up My Love’ was a highlight. The track went on to hit no. 1 in the Amazon Nu soul chart. Then there was their tribute to Luther Vandross, ‘Luther’. Earlier this year, DSG Records made available a T Groove remix of ‘Steppin’ Up My Love’ that had been a big but exclusive club hit through 2016. It unsurprisingly filled dance floors everywhere.

Now Soulfusionseven follow that with something quite different – a sensual, smooth and sophisticated laid-back vibe, ‘Summer Breeze’. No, it’s not a cover of the Seals and Croft/Isley Brothers classic, rather a new tune, but like that one it captures what we all hope summer will bring – long, lazy days, relaxation and a lot more!
