STOP DON’T TOUCH ME THERE

SHANTAE TOWNSEL is a Detroit based soul singer whose latest single is winning plenty of support. It’s an old school groove, ‘Stop, Don’t Touch Me There’ – not as risqué as the title suggests, by the way.

The song is a real throwback sound – hardly surprising. It was produced  by Felton Pilate of ConFunkShun and written by Jay Blakey and McKinley Jackson (from the old Hot Wax/Invictus set up) alongside Melvin Seals, who Philly fans will know as a garlanded songwriter.

Ms. Townsel delivers their song with conviction and the track’s embellished with some good old school femme bvs and a honking sax solo. Great stuff and out now via Uniglobal Records.
