Neo-soulstress AMANA MELOMÉ enjoyed underground soul success with her 2015 EP ‘Lock And Key’ and to maintain momentum she’s just released a remix set…. ‘Lock And key – The Remixes’.
Amongst the tweakers and mixers meddling with the music are Mark de Clive-Lowe, Opolopo, Daz- I-Kue (Bugz In The Attic), Filip, Slimbo and Firefly.
The immediate grabber on the 9 tracker is Clive-Lowe’s soulful house rendition of the EP’s title track while Firefly’s reimagining of the same tune is charmingly engaging if a little too poppy for soul sensitivities.
Hungarian mix meister Opolopo gets to get his hands on ‘Icarus’ and he produces something a little more experimental than his usual fare… file under “interesting”; probably the best description for all the music here.
