One of the biggest tunes of the last month or so has been ‘Freeway’, credited to STOKES and MACHINE, an Atlanta-based soul collective headed by prolific producer and arranger EDDIE STOKES. With a proper old school soul vocal from CLEVELAND P JONES it ticked all the boxes.
Now we say it long and often but you just can’t keep a good tune down, so, no surprises to learn that the lovely ‘Freeway’ is back with us in new mix… the ‘Urban Electric’ mix. The new tweak’s been crafted by Shawn Hibbler who’s previousy worked with people like Mary J Blige and Avery Sunshine. His mix is every bit as good as the original – a gentle, almost stripped down start building into a solid, contemporary soul groove. Recommended!
We believe that the mix has been created specifically for the US market but astute detective work will lead you to it… a good ‘un!
