The Isley Brothers first exhorted us to ‘Fight The Power’ in 1975 – it was the first single off their landmark album, ‘The Heat Is On’.
Power fighters might be interested to know that the funk anthem has just been given a new lease of life courtesy of master bassist MITCHELL COLEMAN JR. Coleman has been recording since 2015 when his debut CD, ‘Soul Searching’ won plenty of plaudits and his booming bass take on ‘Fight The Power’ is turning heads too. The track features searing sax work from Fernando Harkless and if we tell you that production’s down to ex Motown producer Michael B Sutton, you’ll know we’re talking quality.
