STEVIE’S WORLD CUP…

It’s always a big one-, yep, the tune the BBC choose to top and tail their World Cup coverage…. Remember ‘Nessun Dorma’?

Well for this year’s tournament the good ‘ole Beeb have pushed the boat out and gone for a great soul tune –STEVIE WONDER’S ‘Another Star’.

The song, of course, is a big Latin tinged romp and perfectly complements the footie fest coming our way. In its original incarnation ‘Another Star’ stretched over 8 minutes on disc 2 of Mr. W’s epic ‘Songs In The Key Of Life’ and now it’s all set for a resurrection courtesy of someone at Auntie Beeb with impeccable taste.

We believe that this is the first time that Stevie Wonder has given approval for one of his songs to be used in this way. A BBC spokesperson commented, “This song perfectly captures the feel-good, carnival atmosphere we will bring to our viewers during the World Cup this summer. It is very rare for an artist of this stature to approve the use of their music in this way, so we are thrilled and honoured to have the opportunity.”
