As Jazz FM DJ Peter Young posted ,“Reason to be cheerful. STEVIE WONDER is playing live at the Calling Festival on Clapham Common Sunday 29th June.” Yes, it’s been confirmed, 63 year old Stevie will be headlining a new strand of the Hard Rock Calling event which takes place on Clapham Common from Saturday 28th June to Sunday 29th June. Organiser, Toby Leighton Pope commented, “We’re thrilled to welcome Stevie Wonder to Calling Festival. His music is timeless and this show will be one of the highlights of the summer!”
Co-headliners are Aerosmith – making their first London appearance in four years – and so far some 20 other artists including Thunder and Joe Bonamassa have been confirmed.
When confirming the news of the appearance, Stevie’s people hinted that our man will be releasing two albums this year…. but don’t hold your breath. Those same people dropped the same hints this time last year (see our news archive). “‘Songs In The Key Of Life’ anyone?” asks the man on the Clapham omnibus!
