STEVIE WONDER has announced that he is to undergo a kidney transplant later this year. He made the announcement during last night’s (Saturday 6th July) Hyde Park concert.
He explained to the crowd his medical condition and said that he would have the operation in September, but asserted that he was well and fit. He said he made the announcement to dispel rumours about his ongoing health.
He went on to explain that he had found a compatible donor…. it is possible to donate a kidney while still alive; people only need one kidney to survive.
