MAYA BLANDY is a young Portuguese singer/songwriter whose first single, ‘Stardust’ became a club favourite around the Iberian peninsula and won itself plenty of airplay. It was produced by Jake Wherry (founding member and producer of UK Hip-Hop pioneers, The Herbaliser) and the story is that US house and disco legend, Kathy Brown, was recording a session in Jake’s studio when she heard snatches of ‘Stardust’. Loving the tune, she asked to add her vocals and that new tweak is now with us.
It’s a “Camden Cassa” mix and it’s a bright, disco affair with full on instrumentation. It’s out now via JMJ RECORDINGS.
