Amongst the various groups and artists still keeping the Philly soul flag flying are FILLIES FINAZZ – a glamourous foursome consisting of Lorna Young, sisters Alicia and Denise Amaro, and Sandra Gail Brown. The girls all come from a Gospel background and between them they’ve have a great pedigree. Ms Brown, for instance, once fronted a group called Sassafras before becoming a touring backing singer for the Village People and the Ritchie Family, while Ms Young worked with a group called Ultimate Experience.
