SOUL SYMPHONY?

Latest release from UK man about soul and dance, DAVE LEE is intriguing to say the least! For the new project he’s resurrected his AC SOUL SYMPHONY collective – you may remember, their take on MFSB’s ‘Manhattan Skyline’ from a few years back.

With the musicians, Dave is planning a new album – ‘Metamorphosis’, (above) which he suggests will be “an epic disco record that takes the sound back to its roots in every way possible.” He adds that “’Metamorphosis’ was borne of a desire to put the strings centre stage and recreate the same analogue sounds that brought instrumental albums by Love Unlimited, MFSB and Salsoul Orchestra to life.”

We don’t have a release date yet but this weekend (22nd October to be precise) Dave and the AC Symphony will release the first single – a pairing of the theme from ‘Six Million Dollar Man’ and a cover of the Chi-Sound classic ‘Windy City Theme’.  Dave tell us that the former was inspired by his happy memories from the golden era of TV while the latter was inspired by his love of  string-led disco grooves. Like we said, intriguing.
