Kylie hasn’t sold out or forgotten her soulful roots – indeed the collaboration actually underlines her soulful status. You see the pair have chosen to create a 21st century take on a proper soul classic – Gwen Guthrie’s 1983 anthem ‘Peanut Butter’. Ms A says: “It was such a joy to cover this track. Gwen Guthrie is an all-time favourite of mine and it was an honour to reimagine the track for Vagrant Soundz. With Tony pulling the strings and Eric Kupper and MicFreak remixing, ‘Peanut Butter’ is spreading the love.”
Hedging their bets, the new tweak of ‘Peanut Butter’ comes in an over-generous 8 mixes and as ever, you pays your money and you takes your pick., Right now my dosh is on the lovely Eric Kupper Luxurious Spread mix. Good ‘ole Eric really know his soul. He rarely puts a foot wrong and here he delivers again! The other mixes include Tony Garcia’s originals, a MicFreak House Nuts Mix and the usual edits and instrumentals.
