THE SOUL MOTIVATORS are, by common consent, Canada’s premier funk band and right now the combo are putting the finishing touches to a new long player… ‘Do The Damn Thing’ which is due for January release.
As a taster, the title track is released this Friday as a single – it’s a big, brash, high octane funk workout with vocals from Shahi Teruko who says: “Do the damn thing is phrase we used during rehearsals to get us back on track when we started to overcomplicate things.” That about sums it all up… the song (and the album) is just that… uncomplicated, old school, raw funk!
