After a period apart, two of soulful house’s seminal labels have signed a deal to work together once more….. And between them SOUL HEAVEN RECORDS and DEFECTED have lined up some top notch releases to celebrate the reunion.
Soul Heaven’s first comeback single release will arrive via UK soul singer-songwriter Terri Walker. The ultra catchy track, ‘He Loves Me’ comes complete with a remix from Osunlade. The first full-length long player to come on the revitalised label will be a studio album from the South African producer Cuebar, whose unique blend of deep, heady soulful productions come accompanied by a host of gifted vocalists. The album is all set to make an impression across sophisticated soulful house dance arenas.
The reunion of Defected and Soul Heaven follows a number of years separate operation. Says owner of Soul Heaven, Fleur Woolford of the decision to once again join forces: “Personally speaking, I never really wanted to leave Defected. We were associated for a number of years, even prior to the label launching, and the relationship drove a lot of great music. There are a lot of interesting developments happening within house music right now which compliment what we want to achieve, so I think the new set-up makes perfect sense. Defected have real credibility musically, but then they’re also renowned for their discipline with marketing and building a brand, and these things are important in today’s industry.”
