JOHNNY JAMES (aka Dr J) is a US smooth jazz saxophonist, flutist, and vocalist and right now one of his tunes is winning plenty of plays on US and UK soul and smooth jazz radio. It’s a bright and breezy modern soul groove, ‘Slippin’’. Penned by James in tandem with producer Vincent Sims, on it our man sings and blows a mean soprano – shades of dear old Junior Walker – but a different, smoother sound altogether.

There are a number of mixes of ‘Slippin’’ doing the rounds – but the the one winning all the support comes via (you guessed it!!!) Nigel Lowis. Out now!
